What are the costs involved ?
Apart from the purchase price of the horse; Owners will receive a monthly account for the training fees. Additional to this will be farrier, raceday, veterinary and any other incidental expenses incurred by the Tim Martin Racing Stable for the horse.

Can I insure my horse and what does the insurance cover ?
Owners can insure their horse or their share in a horse for a death only insurance cover.
This decision is at the owners discretion as to whether they would prefer to insure their horse or not.
Tim Martin Racing Stable normally insures with Gow Gates as we have found them to be very competitive with their rates; However owners may use other companies at their discretion.

How long will it take before my horse will race or trial ?
First of all it is important to remember that all horses are different and must be treated as individuals.
Generally horses that come into training straight from the paddock will take about 8 weeks to be fit enough to barrier trail. All going well they will normally race 2 to 3 weeks after the barrier trial.

When will my horse be named ?
Once the horse has been paid for in full the registration form will be submitted and then the name has to be approved by the Registrar of Racehorses.

When can I see my horse ?
Owners are welcome to come and see their horse at any time; provided they contact the office and arrange a suitable time for Tim or the staff to parade the horse. This is important for the stable security.

How often will I receive information about my horse ?
Owners are provided with regular horse updates via phone, email or fax.

Who’s colours will my horse wear ?
Owners are welcome to race their horse in the Tim Martin Racing Stable colours or design and register their own colours through the Thoroughbred Racing Board.

What privileges will I have as an owner ?
